If you’ve ever watched “Groundhog Day,” you remember how, as the movie grinds on and the same day keeps happening over and over, the camera pulls in for a slo-mo of the alarm clock flipping ominously from 5:59 to 6:00 am. It’s the dread moment. The radio clicks on and Sonny and Cher are singing, “…then put your little hand in mine,” and we know the same old day is on repeat.
That movie is a classic because it portrays our days. Absent some effort on our part, we all keep living the same day, the same life over and over. If we want something different, we have to make an intentional choice. We have to pay attention to what’s actually happening in our homes, our relationships, our work, and our inner lives. We have to name what we want to be different and make a serious plan for welcoming that change.
For Chanin Walsh, when the calendar flips from 2024 to 2025, it’s a perfect time to take stock of our lives, the ideal time to make that serious plan for something better. For the last three Januarys, Chanin has been leading a Copper House retreat on goal-setting for the new year. With over thirty years of experience helping people and organizations seek creative growth and engagement, Chanin leads each retreat participant in a process of discovery and new resolve. It all happens on January 11th, and while the event is almost full there’s still room for you.
